Product Information

What type of plastic is utilized in your products?

All our items are presently crafted from a plant-derived plastic known as PLA (polylactic acid), derived from fermented plant starch such as corn, sugarcane, beet pulp, and others.

Is PLA plastic environmentally sustainable?

Yes, the production of PLA plastic results in significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions compared to petroleum-based plastics. Nevertheless, challenges persist in ensuring proper management of these plastics at the end of their life cycle. To address this, we have initiated our bring-it-back program to facilitate correct recycling of PLA plastics. Additionally, we provide fully recycled product alternatives, and our comprehensive roadmap outlines ambitious recycling and composting objectives for the next two years.

Do your products contain harmful substances?

No, PLA is inherently non-toxic, and the coloured filament we use is RoHS compliant. In contrast to petroleum-based plastics, PLA is biodegradable under suitable conditions and can be composted without generating toxic by-products. During our manufacturing process, we employ an all-metal (stainless & titanium) extrusion system to ensure no external toxins are introduced to our products.

Are your products Food Safe Certified?

No, while the PLA plastic used in our manufacturing is safe for food contact, the nature of 3D printed products prevents current certification as food safe due to the potential for bacterial build-up between micro-layers over time.

What is your commitment to environmental sustainability?

We offer fully recycled product options and are actively developing a long-term roadmap with ambitious recycling and composting goals for the next two years.
